Talk the Talk: How Communication Styles Make Wesbury a Stronger Team

At Wesbury, we believe great teams start with great communication. It’s not just what you say, it’s how you say it. Understanding different communication styles helps us work better together every day.

The Four Communication Styles

Each style brings unique strengths to our team:

  • Socializer
Outgoing, energetic, and people-focused. They bring enthusiasm and connection.
  • Director
Confident, results-driven, and efficient. Natural leaders who keep things moving.
  • Relator
Supportive, dependable, and compassionate. They create harmony and build trust.
  • Thinker
Analytical, detail-oriented, and thoughtful. They value planning and precision.

No style is better than another – each one is essential to a balanced team!

Learning to Flex

As part of our orientation process, all new hires take a short communication style analysis to:

  • Discover their natural style
  • Learn how to “flex” and adapt when working with different styles

For example:

  • Socializers may provide more details for Thinkers.
  • Directors may take time to connect with Relators.
  • Relators may give more direct feedback to Directors.
  • Thinkers may speak more plainly with Directors.

This helps reduce misunderstandings, improve teamwork, and build stronger relationships.

Why It Matters at Wesbury
