June Volunteer of the Month – Judy Stewart
Judy Stewart is the Wesbury Volunteer of the Month for June. Judy has been a volunteer at Wesbury since 2001. Originally, and for many years, Judy and three other ladies would meet in the lower level at Cribbs to mend the clothing of residents.
However, Judy has also been the manager of the Sunset Auxiliary Gift Shoppe at Grace Rehabilitation and Health Center for many years. At the Gift Shoppe, Judy schedules volunteers, orders supplies and other merchandise, as well as all the other duties that go along with running a store. She is very excited to be opening the Gift Shoppe after two years of it being closed due to the COVID pandemic. Judy is also a member of the Sunset Auxiliary at Wesbury. The Sunset Auxiliary is a network of individuals and groups within the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church that makes friends and raises funds for the residents of Wesbury.
Judy was born and raised in New Jersey but came to Meadville with her husband for a job opportunity. They had four children and she has three grandchildren. Judy likes the spring and summertime when she can be outdoors and work in her yard. Judy also enjoys managing the Gift Shoppe and is very much looking forward to seeing the residents and staff again. She particularly enjoys helping residents find what they want in the store and just visiting with everyone. She appreciates the Wesbury staff and feels everyone is very helpful.
Judy hopes to see everyone when they stop by at the Gift Shoppe this summer.
