April Volunteer of the Month – BJ Angstadt

BJ Angstadt is Wesbury’s Volunteer of the Month for April. BJ and her husband, Bruce, moved to Meadville in January of 2016 from Washington D.C. They chose this area as their retirement spot, and love living at Wesbury’s Thoburn Village. BJ has been a Wesbury volunteer almost from the time she moved here.  She has a true gift for doing personal visits with residents at Grace. She spends time with the folks as they read together, just visit, or go out on walks. She has done group newspaper reading and uplifting book readings with them. BJ loves to participate in different volunteer areas of need. She sings in the weekly Reflection Church Services at Grace and she also helps to escort residents to the chapel. BJ is a member of the Academy Theatre, Meadville Community Theatre, and Meadville Women’s Club. At Wesbury, she has led or been a main part of many of the short plays and skits that have been performed throughout the Wesbury Community to the delight of both staff and residents. When she has a bit of spare time, BJ enjoys fishing, attending theatre productions, and traveling. Much like her fellow volunteers, BJ says when she started volunteering she was thinking she was helping others, but in reality, she feels like she gets the most reward serving others. She knows the needs are real, and volunteers are truly needed in so many ways and hopes that others will join her and feel the calling to volunteer in service to their community.
