We would like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to all of the staff and volunteers for helping to ensure another successful year for the 5k/Chicken Run, BBQ and Craft Fair!  Whether you raised funds, found sponsors, helped plan and prepare, set up, cleaned up, volunteered, or worked at these events  –it takes every one of you for these events to go well!  We can’t thank you enough.

5K Chicken Run/1 Mile Walk

On Saturday, we held the 4th Annual 5k Chicken Run/1 Mile Walk and it was the best year yet!  118 runners/walkers participated along with many who were here to offer support.  The employee committee did a wonderful job working together to make this event a huge success!  We raised over $8,000 for Wesbury’s Benevolent Care Fund – way to go!!!

Chicken BBQ and Craft Fair

On Sunday, we held Wesbury’s 30^th Annual Chicken BBQ and Craft Fair.  Despite the heat, the weather was near perfect, the event was very well attended and everyone had a great time!  We served more meals than ever before serving 2,772 chicken and rib dinners plus a lot of hot dogs to the estimated 3,000 plus people who were in attendance.

The marketing tents were busy offering campus tours throughout the day and providing information about Wesbury.  While the Sunset Auxiliary has not yet totaled their proceeds, they sold out of baked goods and the rummage and book sale were very successful.  The money raised from these sales will be used later this year to purchase items that will benefit Wesbury residents.
