Renovations Begin at Cribbs Residential Center – Please Excuse the Mess!

l. to r. Melissa Porter, V. P. of Sales and Marketing, Larry Marsteller, Administrator and Brian Nageotte, President/CEO, discuss the renovation plans for Cribbs Residential Center.

If you are visiting Cribbs Residential Center, please be patient as you encounter construction activity. We are excited to announce that our long awaited common area renovations are getting underway! The building, constructed from 1950 to 1952, has undergone many changes through the decades. What started as a building of single rooms and shared baths has evolved into 91 apartments of varying sizes and amenities. Over the past three years, our focus has been on improving the living spaces to include walk-in showers and kitchenettes where possible and updating the wall colors, trim, flooring selections, fixtures, and outdoor balcony carpet and railings.

Now we will shift our focus to the front lobby where we plan to create better functionality and replace the flooring, wall coverings and outdated furnishings in the hallways on the first and second floors. Lighting improvements will be made in the extended halls where an attempt at more residential lighting from a past update left these areas dimly lit. Over time, all of the common areas will be refreshed with neutral earthy tones. Since the basement level houses many of our activity spaces, we plan to select wall coverings and flooring choices that will diminish the basement appearance and make this level inviting and cozy. We are working with the expertise of our own construction team and several area professionals, taking advantage of the great resources that we have right here in Meadville for both design and installation. Stop in and see how it’s coming along!

On Wesbury’s main campus Cribbs Residential Center offers 91 apartments – private studio and 2 room suites.  Since 1918 Wesbury has been providing Enhance Living and Personal Care to seniors 62 and older.  Enhanced Living and Personal Care bridges the gap between not being able to live independently at home but not yet needing skilled nursing care. Residents can bring their cars, travel to and from campus and do not have to worry about meals, housekeeping, laundry and transportation. Nursing is on staff 24/7 and can provide additional support when needed with daily tasks such as assistance with bathing, dressing and monitoring medication. With everything you need at your fingertips, residents enjoy attending church services, working in the community garden or signing up for monthly scheduled outings to shop, go out to lunch or to a mystery ride and location.
